Join Ellen Keith, Chicago Collections Consortium's Board Chair and Director of Research and Access and Chief Librarian at Chicago History Museum,  who will be in conversation with LaDale Winling, Virginia Tech, and Maura Fennelly, Northwestern University. Learn how and why the Chicago Covenants project was started and about their important collaborative research efforts in finding and documenting race-restricted covenants that continue to be found in Chicago area property records.

Maura Fennelly

Northwestern University
Maura Fennelly is a Sociology PhD Candidate at Northwestern University. Her dissertation explores the rise of homeowners' associations and their impact on residential life and property relations. Before graduate school, she was an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Chicago Rehab Network, an affordable housing nonprofit. She received her Bachelor's degree from American University.

LaDale is a historian at Virginia Tech, one of the co-creators of Mapping Inequality on redlining and the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation, and author of the book Building the Ivory Tower: Universities and Metropolitan Development in the Twentieth Century.
